Abstract: If you have beautiful and useful photographs which may be useful for inclusion in the Encyclopedia of Laser Physics and Technology, you are encouraged to submit them.
It is certainly nice for the users of the Encyclopedia of Laser Physics and Technology that various articles contain useful photographs. If you have any beautiful photographs which would be suitable for certain encyclopedia articles, you are welcome to suggest them for inclusion. Of course, the source will always be properly acknowledged.
Some examples:
- Companies often have well-done photographs of their products, such as laser devices, measurement equipment, optical components, etc., which have a direct relation to certain encyclopedia articles. It can have a certain advertising effect to have such photographs displayed in the encyclopedia. This is perfectly acceptable as long as the photographs are informative and the advertising effect is not too dominating.
- Researchers have photographs or drawings of experimental setups, microscope images and the like. Preferably, such materials help to illustrate aspects of general interest, rather than only very specialized matters.
In case that an updated edition of the print version will appear, contributors of photographs will be asked to sign a simple form required by the publisher to avoid copyright problems.
