Quantum electronics is not exactly (as one might expect) the part of electronics where quantum effects play a role (in analogy with the term quantum optics). Instead, it is an area of physics which is the basis of optoelectronics. The field of quantum electronics extends somewhat further, overlapping to some extent with solid-state physics, laser physics, and quantum optics.
