Where to Buy Neutral Density Filters
Neutral density filters are optical attenuators which have an approximately constant degree of attenuation (filter loss) in a substantial wavelength range – for example, throughout the visible spectrum or in some part of the infrared spectrum. They can be of absorbing or reflective type, depending on the required power handling capability. They are used in photography, but also in various parts of photonics and laser technology.

101 East Gloucester Pike Barrington, NJ 08007 United States | Edmund Optics offers a wide variety of neutral density filters for ultraviolet (UV), visible and infrared applications. Neutral density filter kits are available, which include a number of filters in a range of optical densities. Stepped ND filters are also available, which offer a number of optical densities on a single filter, ideal for lab or R&D integration. |
Standard, Custom and OEM Photonics Solutions 313 Washington Street Suite 403 Newton, MA 02458 United States | EMF, a Dynasil company, maintains large inventory reflective ND filters in optical densities of 0.3, 0.5, 0.6, 0.9, 1.0, 1.3, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0. Custom optical densities can be achieved by stacking several ND filters together. The total density being equal to the sum of the density of each filter in the stack. |
9177 Dutton Drive Twinsburg, Ohio 44087 United States | VisiMax process neutral density (ND) filters produce a constant attenuation across a range of visible wavelengths, and are used to reduce the intensity of light by reflecting a portion of it. VisiMax ND filters transmit only a specified percentage of light equally across a range of wavelengths, enabling important performance features in a range of optical systems. |
Mokslininku str. 11 08412 Vilnius Quality: ISO 9001:2015 | Standard neutral density (ND) reflective type (at 400–2000 nm) and absorption type (at 450–650 nm) filters. |
