NIL Technology (NILT) is specialized on the replication of micro- and nanostructures. We are specialists in high precision nanoscale features and complex optical structures.
We provide cutting edge optical components for sensors, 3D imaging and displays.

anti-reflection microstructures | NIL Technology can offer you anti-reflection microstructures that reduce reflection and increase the transmission on a surface, compared to the same surface in a blank state. The anti-reflection structures can be applied directly to any formable material like thermoplastics or UV curable materials by nanoimprinting or roll2roll or it can be defined on non-formable materials by nanoimprint lithography of a resist and subsequent pattern transfer by etching. The anti-reflection effect is achieved by modification of the surface topography on a sub-wavelength scale. Our anti-reflection structures make use of the bio-inspired moth-eye effect to create a 3D sub-wavelength surface topography, resulting in a graded refractive index profile which reduces the reflection of the surface. For DOE’s we routinely offer up to 16 levels and down to 250 nm feature size. Depending on the application more levels or smaller feature sizes can be obtained. diffusers | E | NIL Technology supports customers from design to fabrication of DOE optical diffusers with arbitrary shape output intensity pattern. These include circular and rectangular flat top profiles, diffused line, logos etc. Our DOE diffusers are performing with higher levels of efficiency, while they are alignment insensitive to the position of the input beam. For DOE’s we routinely offer up to 16 levels and down to 250 nm feature size. Depending on the application more levels or smaller feature sizes can be obtained. |

We have a variety of masters with concave or convex microlens arrays for use in production of polymer microlens arrays by hot-embossing, UV replication or injection molding. The masters are offered in fused silica and nickel. Lens depth/height and lens width can be controlled independently, so any parabolic lens shape can be realized on the stamps. Polymer replications with convex and concave lens arrays can also be provided. We also have a wide selection of microlens standard stamps. |

optical design services | NIL Technology provides a full solution from design to mass production of optical components. We support all phases from idea and concept to prototyping and mass production. We design single optical components, such as Diffractive Optical Elements (DOE), Micro Lens Arrays (MLA), and gratings, as well as optical systems. We provide optical design to match specific optical needs. We use commercially available optical design tools, as well as in-house optimization algorithms. The optical designs can quickly be validated by making a master, replication in optically suitable material and tested to provide information for optimization and mass production. |
