Spectrophotometers are instruments for measuring the wavelength-dependent transmittance or reflectance of solutions or solid objects. They can be used, for example, for objectively assessing the color of objects, or for determining concentrations of certain substances in a solution. They are available for different spectral regions, e.g. UV, VIS and IR.
