Where to Buy Optical Profilometers
Optical profilometers (surface profilers) can be used for very precisely measuring height profiles of surfaces, e.g. for assessing surface roughness, scratches and digs of optical surface finish. They can be based on interferometric and other methods, partly reaching a resolution far better than 1 μm. There are applications in optical metrology, optics fabrication, semiconductor chip inspection, thin film production and data storage.
